Five countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan) situated on territory of Central Asia and occupy 2 % of global lands. These countries became independent after the USSR disintegrated in August 1991.

Central Asia is the native land of ancient civilizations. The great states of Bactria and Khorezm, Sogd and Parthia. The Great Silk Roads from China to Central Asia came this way. Many conquerors (such as Alexander the Great, Chingizkhan and the Arabian Khalifat) went through these lands with fire and sword, sweeping away everything in their path.

The geniuses, scientists, enlighteners, poets - Avicenna, Ulugbek, Navoi, Khayam - were born in these countries.

Map of Central Asia

Majestic
cities with beautiful palaces, mosques, minarets and madrasahs were erected over thousands of years. Many of them were ruined; yet tourists still have an opportunity to admire many remaining parts of these constructions.

Medieval monuments of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, Merv, Pendjikent, Kunya-Urgench are well-known all over the world Such "pearls" of ancient architecture as Shakhi-Zinda Ensemble, Bibi Khanum. Registan, Mausoleum of Samanids and Gur-Emir, Kalyan Minaret. Ichan-Kata city museum (Khiva) and others wilt strike you by their resplendence of decorative art, and the consummate skill of ceramic artists. They can be compared only with the architectural masterpieces of Egypt, India, China, ancient Greece and ancient Rome. Nowadays, Central Asia like in those old times, when innumerable treasures were being transported along the caravan roads of the Great Silk Way still has a special role.

The unique nature of Central Asia, inimitable in its beauty, historical monuments, well-developed transport and tourist infrastructure, peculiar geopolitical and stable social-political situation, governmental support for tourism, traditional hospitality and cordiality of local people make Central Asia one of the centers of world tourism.

The climate of Central Asia is dry, with plenty of sun, short winters, early springs, hot summers and soft autumns. There are a lot of trees, cool brooks and small irrigation channels, fountains in the squares and parks in the cities. This and also the dryness of the climate and the light mountain breezes keep the January temperatures from +3 'C. Average summer temperature 32-36 'C. Travelling in Central Asia is possible in any season of the year. Winter is the best season for alpine skiing, summer is the paradise for city tours and mountain enthusiasts.
