This biking tour covers fascinating valleys of Central Asia: the Fergana
Valley, the Chatkal river and Talasskaya Valley. The Fergana Valley
reminds you of a garden created by man-s hands and the Chatkalskay
Valley is beautiful with its alpine meadows ringed by high ranges
and clean water of the rivers flowing below. This trip will give you
a fantastic insight into the traditional way of life. We will visit
Aksu-Djabagli Nature Reserve and observe the real wildlife of the
mountains. The length of the active part of the route is 480 km.
The best time for biking is July - October. This tour is 100% vehicle
and guide supported.
| Day 1 |
Arrival in Tashkent. Hotel transfer. |
| Day 2 |
Transfer by car to the Fergana Valley 9180 km; 4 hrs) through
the Angren river valley and Kamchik Pass (2267 m). After lunch
we start the active part of the tour from Chadak village (H=1000
m). We enjoy picturesque scenery of the steppes cycling on asphalt
road. Camp on the bank of the Cherkesar mountain river (L=20
km, H=100 m). |
| Day 3 |
This day we cross the territory of Kyrgizstan on asphalt
road and gain a view of the steppes with small oasis along the
rivers. Camp near Sumsar village (L=50 km; H=1350 m). This is
the end of asphalt road and further we will be cycling on ground. |
| Day 4 |
We drive on gradually steepening road to the Kasansaiy river
valley. While cycling you get to see colorful rocks and picturesque
birch groves. Camp near the Tereksaiy village (L=40 km; H=2000
m.) |
| Day 5 |
Drive near the Chapchima Pass (2680 m.) This day the road
is good without steep rises , through along the bottom of the
canyon among rocks and groves. Camp near the confluence with
Chapchima Sai (L=40 km; H=2500 m.) |
| Day 6 |
Cycle up the Chapchima Pass (2840 m.) on a good road with
a gently sloping serpentine. From the broad saddle of the pass
we are rewarded with great view of peaks of the Pskemskiy range
and Chatkalskay valley. It is almost 25 km. of down hill sometimes
on steep serpentine. Camp near Djani-bazar village (L=50 km;

| Day 7 |
Today we drive up the Chatkal river valley and explore this
beautiful region with its rich flora and fauna. Camp in the
birch-grove of the Djet-Kupure canyon (L=60 km; H=2100 m). |
| Day 8-9 |
Enjoy a day walking in the Kara-Tokoi canyon. Overnight near
the most beautiful lake situated at 3000 m. The canyon-s vertical
walls are covered with evergreen forests. The distance from
the lake one way is 15 km. |
| Day 10 |
We spend this day driving to the foot of the Karabura Pass.
This is a difficult day and we have to cross the ford but the
road gives us magnificent views of alpine scenery. Camp near
the pass (L=15 km; H=2700 m) |
| Day 11 |
Cross over Krabura pass (3300 m.). Downhill on serpentine
to the river-head of Karabura. From the pass are the wonderful
views of glaciers and high Chatkal peaks (4503 m.) and Chatklskiy
Ushbi (4346 m.) in the Chatkalskiy range opens up. Camp (L=15
km; H=2600 m.)
Day 12. Downhill to Talasskaya valley - cradle of the culture
of the Kirgiz people. Camp near Koksaiy village (L=50 km; H=1400
m.) |

This day we ride on ground road to the territory of Kazakstan.
On the way we enjoy the peak of Manas (4484 m.) - one of the
highest mountains in the Western Tien Shan. Camp near the border
with Aksy-Djabaglinskogo Nature Reserve (L=60 km; H=1600 m.) |
| Day 13 |
Today we explore and observe wildlife in the nature reserve
and on foot visit the museum with a rich collection of exhibits
and walnut and relict forests. |
| Day 15 |
Cycling through hills to the Aksu river canyon. It is a difficult
road with plenty of rises but the view of evocative landscape
is our reward. On this place many years ago Russians settled
built their village and called it Raievka which means place
of Paradise. Camp near the border with the Nature Resrve (L=30
km; H=1800 m.) |
| Day 16 |
We explore the Aksu canyon. This is huge and massive canyon
is only 40 km long, but the vertical walls reaches 300 m. in
height. Continue cycling to the Sairam river valley, one of
the most attractive in the Western Tien-Shan mountains. On the
way to the base camp we drive through magnificent juniper and
fir forests, alpine meadows, enjoy the clear water of lakes
and view icy peaks. (L=50 km; H=2200 m.) This is the end of
the active part of the route. |
| Day 17 |
Walk around the highest peak of Ugamskiy range - Sairam (4236
m.) and explore the glacier and moraine lakes. We will probably
have a chance to see ancient rock paintings. Camp. |

Transfer by car to Tashkent. Accommodation in the hotel (L=18
km; 6 hrs.) |
| Day 20. |
Day trip to Samarkand. |
| Day 21. |
Transfer to airport. Fly home. |
