Arrival in Tashkent. Meeting
at airport, transfer to hotel. |
| Day 2 |
Drive Tashkent - Djizak . (140 km; 2hs ). Ride Djizak - Yangikishlak
settlement (110km; 5 hs). Camp. Here we start the active part
of bicycle trek. Crossing by bicycles up to Majrumsay settlement
that is located on territory of national park (60km;4h). Camp.
From Yangikishlak settlement a good asphalt road takes us along
the spurs of the Nurata range through the sands of Kyzyl-Kum
desert to the Majrumsay gorge. A unique sight here is of a thousand-year
old juniper tree that in a grasp has a trunk of more than 5
meters. |
| Day 3 |
Ride from Magrumsay gorge to Sentyabsay
gorge ( 60 km; 5h ). Camp. Within a day you will get to know
the ruins of an ancient Stone-Age of VI-VIII century, where
in ancient mines the production of gold was conducted. You will
get acquainted to the peculiarities of life of the ancient people.
Here you won't feel the heat of desert any more, a river flows
through the entire settlement, there on the mountain slopes
you can see huts of the local people. |
| Day 4 |
Ride Sentyabsay gorge - Aydarkul Lake shore (80km;6h). Camp.
Rest. Swimming, fishing are possible. |
| Day 5 |
Ride Aydarkul lake - Desert base ( 30km;3h).
Camp (overnight in yurts). Camel-riding. National dishes are
for lunch. Sightseeing around the desert. |
| Day 6 |
Ride desert base - Nurata ( 100km;7h). Camp. During the way
observing of ancient irrigating underground system - kerizes
of times of Alexander the Great. Camp. Overnight in tents. |
| Day 7 |
A.m. we get to know the sights of Nurata
city and its environments: mosque of brothers Khasan and Khuseyn
(XVI-XVII cЯ.), blacksmith's and potter's workshops, visit of
sacred place - place of Moslems pilgrimage. Lunch in national
house is possible. P.m. we go by bike from Nurata to Sarmysh
natural boundary (40km;3h). Exploring of wall- prints, strolling
up along the gorge. Camp. |
| Day 8 |
Ride to Navoi city (15 km; 2h). On the way we change the
bus. Transfer Navoi - Bukhara (150km;3h). Hotel. |
| Day 9 |
Bukhara. Full day sightseeing around the
city. Hotel. |
| Day 10 |
Drive Bukhara - Shakhrisabz by bus (200km;3h). Then biking
(100km;4h). Hotel. On the way we can see jeyrans (desert goats).

| Day 11 |
Drive from Shakhrisabz via Kyzyltepa village
to Langar valley till Yangykyshlar village. (60 km; 2 h). Ride
up to the valley (50 km; 8 h). Camp. On the way we cross some
villages, can explore local life. Possible visit of local house
for lunch. |
| Day 12 |
Strained day. Ride cross Kyzylgaza pass (2600 m) to plateau
and descent to Tashkurgan settlement (20 km; 6-7 h). Camp. |
| Day 13 |
Walking up to the Tamerlan cave (8km; 7h).
Camp. A good path runs along the Kolasay river. On the way exploring
the dinosaur-s footprints in lime - stones of the Jurassic period.
There is a great niche with internal lake in the Tamerlan cave.
They say the water of the lake is curative and the lake is "Sacred".
It is a place of pilgrimage for many local people. |
| Day 14 |
Ride to Tatar village (20km; 6h). Camp. On the way we see
the Watch - tower (XIV c) and get to know the handicraft of
local people, whose work is famous for making suspended roads
(ovrings). Possible visit to local house. |
| Day 15 |
Meeting by the car. Drive to Shahrisabz
( 30 km; 1 h ). Ride to Samarkand (75km;7h ). Hotel. The way
runs through the picturesque spurs of Turkestan range and Takhtakaracha
pass from which we gain the view of the entire Kashkadarya valley.

Drive Samarkand - Tashkent. (240 km; 4 h).

Transfer to airport. Departure flight. |
A fascinating
historical-cognitive adventure tour passes along the southern-east
part of one of the greatest Asian desert - Kyzyl-Kum (Red sand). You
will see the most ancient and absolutely young cities, world-known
architectural monuments of Samarkand, get acquainted with the original
way of life and traditions of the local people. Wild nature of deserts
and mountains will be waiting for you. You will pass places, where
the Great Silk Road ran in old times, visit places which are connected
with the name of Tamerlan the Great and his cave in spurs of the Gissar
range. According to the ancient legend the cave was as asylum for
Tamerlan and his small army. Bicycle tour is full of exotic, adventures,
legends and orient hospitality. The length of the active part of the
route is 500 km. The best time for biking is: May - October.
