HELI-SKI IN WESTERN TIEN-SHAN MOUNTAINS
Winter sport in the mountains of Western Tien-Shan becomes more and more popular among mountain skiers. Uzbekistan has the advantage over the other regions of Heli-ski on the territory of the former USSR (Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Caucasus, Altay, and Camchatka) because of thick blanket of soft and downy snow, sunny, warm and fine stable weather.
The main skiing area is located in the mountains of Western Tien-Shan (90 km far from Tashkent).
Convenient mountain huts (of hotel type) with shower and toilet in each room, sauna, billiard room, fireplace hall, bar, and satellite TV are situated here.
Skiers make descends from summits of Ugam, Pskem and Chatkal mountain ranges (on the altitude 3000-4000 m.). The amplitude of descends 1,3 – 2 km; the length of the descending 5-10 km. Usually skiers make 4-6 descends per day. The flight time from the hotel to the landing place 5-30 min. Tourists are accompanied with 2 guides. Each tourist must have his own special equipment (ski, beacons, first-aid medical set). Helicopter grounds are located near the hotel.

2. Skiing area.
Skiing takes place in the mountains of western Tien-Shan (Ugam, Pskem, Chatkal ranges) just 100 km from Tashkent – the capital of Uzbekistan, at the altitude from 2500 till 4200 meters above sea level. Amplitude of descents is up to 2 km, lengths - up to 10 km. Group accommodation Helicopter base and is CIS popular ski resort “Chimgan”.

3. How to reach ski area.
Tashkent International airport in accepts planes from the airports of different countries of the world. You will be met by our representatives at the airport and taken to Chimgan (90 km; 1,5-2 hours) where you will have a rest at the hotel. International air tickets are not included in the price.

4. Standard program.

Day 1	Arrival in Tashkent.
Day 2	Transfer to Chimgan.
Day 3-7	Heliskiing
Day 8	Skiing. P. m. transfer to Tashkent. Farewell dinner.
Day 9	Departure.

A program includes 2 options both for amators and professionals skiers.

Option 1	9 days, 5 nights in the mountains. 13 500 vertical meters assured.
Option 2	11 days 7 nights in the mountains. 23 000 vertical meters assured.

Day 11	Departure from Tashkent.

5. Western Tien-Shan. Snow conditions and temperature. Mountains of western Tien-Shan provide with a beautiful snow conditions for skiing in the period from the second half of January till the middle of April. Normally, it is 1,5 – 2 meters of snow at the beginning of ski season. Snow is fresh, soft and powder everywhere. Middle of March and April are characterized by snow of spring, but some slopes still have soft and powder snow in this period. Temperatures are different in ski zones: from – 10 C to –3 C.

6. Accommodation. Usually, skiers like accommodation in private, not big hotels in Chimgan gorge. They are 4 bed cozy houses with all conveniences such as bathroom, toilet, TV. The program is based on full board, which is provided by hotel staff in cozy restaurant. Several bars, cafes, are located next to cottages. There are billiard hall, sauna, table tennis, massage, gym are at your disposal. Also, there is a possibility of accommodation at the hotel “Beldersay” 4*.

7. Ski lifts area and bad weather program. There are two double-chair ski lifts and some hoop lifts in Chimgan and Beldersay gorge (5 km from Chimgan). In case of bad weather guests can spend their time skiing in ski lift zones or being accompanied by heli-guides skiing/boarding in the area around. We also can offer a city tour to Tashkent or Samarkand.

8. Ski equipment and clothes. During the program we shall be providing you with all services concerning your ski equipment, which you have to bring with you. We will be thankful if you would bring your own bipper and daily sack (for skiing).
Your clothes must be adjusted to changing weather and temperature. Gloves, warm hat, goggles, sunglasses, sun block cream are important part of your equipment. Please, do not forget sport clothes, training suites and shoes, swimsuit and toiletries.

9. Insurances Health and accident insurances with “worldwide” coverage are the responsibility of the holder. Best option is to have a travel insurance or membership in your national air ambulance service for quick home transportation in case of emergency.

10. Vertical Guarantee and Refund We guarantee vertical descents for you. According to the requested package, our options are included planned quantity of descents with a minimum guaranteed. Refunds will be given only in a bad weather conditions or technical breakdown of helicopter. Refunds are paid to the group on the basis of 30$/p.p. / for 1 vertical km, in case of failed vertical guarantee.

11. Excess Vertical Meters Once you have reached the included vertical meters, it is possible to continue to ski, you will be charged for the additional meters. Of course, you do not have to exceed the vertical meters included and you can stop skiing at any time.

12. Age Limits The minimum age for heliski/snowboarding is 18 years or 14 years but accompanied by their parents.

13. Visas We provide invitation letters for all our guests. After receiving confirmation from MFA of Uzbekistan they allow to get visas at the Embassies/Consulates of Uzbekistan in your country. If there is no the Embassy of Uzbekistan in your country, you can get visa upon arrival at the airport of Uzbekistan.

14. Local Time Tashkent – Central European time (Greenwich) + 4 (5) hours.
