Arrival in Tashkent, capital
of Uzbekistan. Excursion around the city. |
| Day 2 |
Transfer by truck to the foot of the Turkestan range (the
Pamir-Alay mountains region), 370 km. Camp 3 on the bank of
the Chegesly river. H=1600 m |
| Day 3 |
Beginning of the trekking. Route by a good
path to the upper Chegesly valley. Camp 2 in the alpine zone
at the foot of the Jiptik pass. H=3400 m. D=9 km. T= 7 hrs.

| Day 4 |
Cross the bare pass Jiptik. The path lead us up to the pass
at 3860m and down to juniper forests of the valley of the river
Jiptik. Camp 3 in a pleasant grove on the bank of a swift mountain
river. H= 240 0m. D = 7 km. T = 6 hrs. |
| Day 5 |
Route through mysterious groves along the
river to a bridge, then a steep ascent to the Kugandi pass (3420
m). From this pass you relish an exciting view of Karatura river
valley with the ice-capped peak Karatura (5482 m). We descend
by a gentle path to the river Minteke. Camp 4 in the alpine
zone. H = 3100 m. D = 13 km. T = 8 hrs. |
| Day 6 |
Walk along ancient moraine of the Minteke glacier. Camp 5
at the foot of the pass H = 4000 m. D= 6km. T= 6 hrs. |
| Day 7 |
Strenuous day. Ascent to the pass Southern
Minteke (4180 m) along a 200m stony slope. From this pass you
enjoy the panorama of the Shurovskoy glacier - one of the biggest
northern glaciers of the slopes of the Turkestan Range. Descent
through heaps of stones without a path. Camp 6 on the right
moraine of the glacier H = 3400 m. D = 8 km. T = 6 hrs. |

Rest day and optional excursions. |
| Day 9 |
Easy route to the upper reaches of the glacier
and ascent to the pass Shurovskoy (4300m) along a snow slope.
Descent by spurs to the Kchemich glacier H = 3700 m. D = 10
km. T = 7hrs. |
| Day 10 |
Descent from the glacier along the river Kchemich. Camp 8
on the bank of the river. H =3000 m. D = 8 km. T = 6 hrs. |
| Day 11 |
Strenuous day. Long ascent to the pass (4050
m). Descent to the beautiful lake Katakyl-Kamma. Camp 9 on the
shore of the lake H = 2800 m. D = 10 km. T= 8 hrs. |
