CELESTIAL MOUNTAINS
In translation from Chinese the Tien Shan means The Celestial Mountains.
Peaks of high altitude, deep gorges, a plenty of snow and ice - all
these really rests highly against the sky. The trekking path runs
to the very heart of the Tien Shan mountain system, at the foot of
two peaks over 7000m high (Khan-Tengry is of 7010m high, and Pobeda
Peak is of 7439m). Pobeda Peak is considered to be the most northern
seven thousand mountain on the Earth. The daily trip takes travelers
to the very beautiful gorge named Ala-Archa, that is located 30km
far from Bishkek. There you will spend some days having a rest at
the high-mountain Issyk-Kul lake (1600m); see with your own eyes a
severe and a unique beauty of the glacial Mertzbakher lake. The best
season for trekking is July-August.

Drive Bishekk - Karakol (400km;8h). Accommodation
in cottages. |

Drive Karakol - Sarydjaz river - Tyuz river (250km;8h). Camp.

Start point of the trek. Passage along Tyuz
river (15km;7h). Camp (3400m) |
| Day 6 |
Walking across Tyuz pass (4001 m) and descent to the Inylchek
valley (15km; 7h). Camp. |
| Day 7 |
Passage Southern Inylchek glacier. This
is the largest glacier of Tien Shan, 40km in length. Passage
along glacier moraine to the confluence of Northern Inylchek
(20km;8h). En route a panoramic view of large glacier summits
of Sarydjaz and Inylchektau opens up. Camp (3400m). |

Daily round trip to Mertzbakher lake. Time at leisure. |
| Day 10 |
Ascent along Southern Inylchek glacier
and BC to "Zvezdochka" glacier (22km; 8-9h). From
the spot of camp we enjoy an impressive view on the highest
summits of Tien Shan region - Khan-Tengry (7010m) and Pobeda
(7439m) peaks. Camp (4200m). |

Daily round trip to Khan-Tengry peak (12km47h). |
| Day 12 |
Daily round trip to Pobeda peak (12km;7h).

Day for reserve and rest at the base camp. (*) |
| Day 14 |
Flight by helicopter to the base Mayda Adyr.
Drive to Karakol city (150km; 7h). Accomodation in cottages.

Day for rest on Issyk-Kul lake. |
| Day 16 |
Drive to Bishkek (400km; 8h). Hotel. |
| Day 17 |
Transfer to airport. Departure. |
(*) - There is possibility of easy climbing up to the summit (4800
- 4900m, peaks Dikiy or Abay) from the base camp on the days 12-14
(according to real conditions of the group). The spectacular panoramic
view is opened from the top of the summit to all peaks around. People
can reach the top and back to base camp in one day only.
